HONEYCOMBS OF DEW
-         HAIKU

Nicotiana-
Open under the blue skies,
Dear Mother of God.
*
Bitter cherry trees
On the top of Câineşti hill –
autumn in scarlet.

*
Innocent childhood-
Cuckoos in bloom acacias,
Scented violets.

*
A church bell’s calling
At daybreak in Surpate-
Call into heaven.
*
The Fountain Valley
Golden butterflies and mint-
Horses in tethers.
  
*
  Birch trees on the hill,
Bustling, rustling in my thoughts,
Longing for leaving.

*
On Smerci, russet goats,
Guardian, the barefoot child-
Heavens getting close.
*
 In Livadie-
Autumn with John-apple trees,
Glorious sunset.
 *
Running fountains –
Mary Brâncoveanu’s,
Such a sad coolness.

*
The Vârteju glade-
Running through the barley,
Tall up to your neck.

*
Many dragon flies and
So many long and thin reeds-
My dearest youth years.

On the old beech tree,
Voichiţa crucified –
Heathen times of yore.

In Valea Rece,
Grottos and old Jewish men –
Crying tears of blood.

The Crimson River –
Trembling and resounding waves
Filling up my heart.

The birch trees swinging,
Embraces of pliant winds –
A child’s ecstasy.

Down, in the clearing –
At the foot of the forest,
Hear horses neighing.

 Father, woodworker –
Poppy red covers and roofs,
Fir-tree resin scent.

My mother’s portrait –
Tantalizing Orient,
Water reflection.

Those tulips, so red,
Summertime in Govora –
Silky rose flowers.

 Up on the Sea Coast-
Flying wild geese in the sky,
Autumn is raining.

The playful squirrels
Up in the wild cherry trees –
Rumors and hubbab.
  
Graves stones, lost in dreams
In Colnic Cemetery –
Cry of a mother.
  
In greenish waters,
Gold filling up large barrels-
Buffalos in moors.
  
Nut tree canopies,
The wavy children scooter-
Ancient village lanes.

Adders and sorel –
The sun in the alder trees,
Growing in the dales.

 Golden rays of sun,
The fountain with a swing-sweep-
Peace in paradise.

Birch trees slumbering
During Midsummer day nights-
White apparitions.
  
Summertime berries
Watching themselves in the flow-
Angels wondering.
  
Shouts of joy, games of
Ruffled kids, gypsy woman
Who plays the fiddle.
  
Riverside meadows,
Scented cobalt violets-
Voroneţ crumbled.
  
Surpate, wedding-
Aloysia as bride- to- be,
Bridegroom in the snow.
  
Adolescence years,
Starts murmuring in the sky-
Barefoot peony.

The spring up in Pisc-
A maiden’s benefaction,
My mother’s pure tear.

 At Udrea, in autumn-
Fugacious nostalgia,
Windows to the sky.

Sour Cherry trees
Enveloped in flower swings-
An infant crying.

It is summertime,
Goat kids in the drousy grove-
Red blood corpuscles.
  
Summer, blackberries-
Our bare feet full of thorns,
Oh, the joyful mouth.
  
Our school teacher-
The lilac tree in the yard
Of primary school.
  
Crossed acacias-
Voivodal chills and shudder,
Mother astonished.
  
At Ferigi, offsprings-
Fox cubs chasing green lizards
Through wild strawberries.
  
Butterflies and birds,
Tender flowers of quince tree-
Eyelashes fluttering.
  
At Ispas, with us-
A blackbird’s young ones flying
Amidst the birch trees.
  
A boyar’s mansion-
Climbing up the gloomy walls
Golden sunflowers.
  
Carts next to horses,
All marching in the sunrise-
Golden fields of rye.
  
Orchestra swallows
On electrical cables-
Such a funny staves.

The beech tree forest,
Stray cornflowers, here and there-
The remote village.
  
The afternoon nap,
Rhinoceros in the blood-
The savannah’s grass.
  
The pond with willows
Bowing before waters-
Sweet years of childhood.

My mother’s fine hand
Caressing silky flowers-
Tardy remorse.
  
A log-tailed lizard
Lying on the palid stones-
Buddha lost in dreams.
  
The wild shepherd’s thyme,
Crickets on a holiday-
Summertime buzzing.
  
Beneath the nut trees
In Ispas place, in springtime-
A shower of gold.
  
Yellow cornel tree
Under the sour cherry -
Mother and her son.
  
The wild geese rowing
Amidst the orange twilight-
The village in flames.
  
Dash through strawberries-
Big stars twinkling in the sky,
Ruby coloured lips.
  
Centuries old oaks
At Dintr-un Lemn, on the hills,
A monk hanged himself.

 Colnic, in winter-
Icy cold blue snowstorms,
Barefoot mother.

Long hair in the wind
Chasing navy butterflies-
Freckled little one.
  
Ciuleandra under the nut
Tree, circles spinning-
Violins playing.
  
Mum, in the lamp light
Weaving carpets at he loom-
the wolves in the snow.
  
The faithful black sheep,
Florea, the friar, limping-
The flute at his waist.
  
Cuckoos in gentle,
Somnolent polpar meadows-
The village at dawn.
  
Poppies lost in dreams
In the middle of the day-
Fluttering of wings.
  
Eyes of a sweet girl-
Beads of dew on the flowers,
Thrills of eyelashes.

Innocent childhood –
Bathing in brackish waters
In a warm summer.
  
The sweet nightingale,
The monastery’s meadow-
A friar weeping.

 Talica-on the porch-
Fuchsia and oleander,
Mother, far away.
  
The bluish crosses-
Shadow over the mountains,
Memento mori.
  
At the lake of Stags,
Deers waiting in the reed-
Honeymoon blossom.
  
Surpate at dawn-
Snowy pigeons in quince trees,
The Athos Mountain.
  
Father on the houses,
In the mantle of daybreak-
Mountain peony.

 Summertime shower,
Rainbow over the spinneys-
Heart boiling in thrills.
  
Flocks of navy birds
On the spire of the church-
Snowfalls of yore times.
  
A violets’nest
The village of Şerbăneşti-
Hung by a rainbow.
  
Dusk in the summer-
Taciturnities wrapped in
Venetian velvets.
  
Lake in Bărcoasa-
Seagulls nesting in the reed,
Flight of dragon flies.

Children, cherry tree,
Stories from the Orient-
Seraglio elope.
  
Bishop in decline-
Orchestrating a swan’s song,
Side by side with God.
  
Child, shepherd of geese-
Water’s looking glasses and
Willows hide the wind.

Horses bounded to birch trees,
Badgers in a heat.
  
Alders, in summer-
Peacocks of monastery
Mantes and nuns.

The magnolias –
Sat on the Brancovan porch,
Wild strawberries jam.

Pann under willows-
The Hospital of Love,
Ancuţa laughing.

 Grandpa in the oaks-
Sturdy saps climbing up,
Tubes of an organ.
  
Fields wrapped in yellow-
Modesty becomes fairies,
Longing for Florence.
  
The Palace of Dukes
Veronesse, San Marco-
Late emotions.
  
At Racşa, in fall-
The cloche with ostrich feather,
Plums coated in frost.
  
On Grand Canale-
Tintoretto and Judas,
The red turban on.
  
Moscow, summertime-
Kremlin, so red the tulips,
Accordions, vodka.

Tarskoe Selo-
The tzar, immaculate swans,
Artesian wells.

Autumn in Gruzia-
Fleshy figs and rosy wines,
Delicate eyebrows.
  
In Azerbaidjan-
Persian women with ankles
Of creamy chocolate.

Baku, on the shores-
Velvet Persian carpets,
Camels, trampling on.

Winter at Coştiui-
Mary, school in the castle,
Plane trees missing leaves.

Innocent childhood-
Mulberries laughing on cheeks,
Knees choking with tears.

 Hip roses on hills,
Wild cherry trees – such dancers,
Autumn at its peak.

Minarets, kebab,
Vae Victis, Byzanthium!-
Christians in blood.

My mother crying-
Sweet and sour gooseberries,
Pure soul of a child.
  
The Kursk submarine-
Nuclear guided missiles,
Sailors and mothers.
  
Paris at twilight-
Rodica Iliescu-

Sergei Esenin, reddish
Boots, rubashka.

Air raids and shelling-
The beautiful Serbia,
K.F.O.R. troops.
  
Easter, ungrated
Apricot trees blossoming-
Jesus in orchards.

Otăsău in summer-
Geese in the water, willows
Swinging in the wind.

Story in the grass -
At the fountain’n Bărcoasa,
Under sycamores.

 The peace in the soul-
Goshawks circling in the sky.
Bloody wild poppies.

 Sky-blue overalls-
The Chemical Factory,
Tulips and chlorine.
  
Roman encampments-
Shiny helmets and copper shields,
Silver poniards.

Autumn fog and haze-
Sunday sadness and sorrow,
Green salamanders.

Oil bearing ground-
Derricks, wells, a field of  rye,
Oily hip roses.

 Springtime at its peak-
The monastery peacocks,
Peach trees blossoming.

The sheik with a hawk-
Bedouin nostalgia,
Scheherezade.

Adoration elegies,
Linden tree fragrance.

Beneath late snowfalls-
Hazelnut tree catkins and
Vermilion foxes.
  
Father, Mariuşa,
The block station with lilac-
Odessa in flames.

Râmnic with orioles-
A drilling machine, orchids,
Mendicant poets.
  
Releases of books-
Human shapes wrapped in haze,
Barbiturates.
  
Wind blowing in groves -
Swinging in its way birch trees
Housing nests and chicks.

Baby trout sleeping,
Spring in the river thicket-
Scented violets.

Hamlet in the woods-
The Burnt Hermitage, Tartars,
Heavy snowfalls.

Kasatchock, vodka-
Russian armoured cars crossing
The wild berries glade.
  
The cornel trees glade-
Mowing men having a rest
In lavender fields.

 At dawn daybreak dew-
The roe deer with its offspring
Through the fairies.

Silence in the ferns-
The fox cubs sunk into deep sleep,
Oh, sweet chilliness.

Nuns at the river-
Blood-stained and scarlet roses,
Honeycombs of dew.

Apollo şi stindardul dacic




     Moto: ,,... pe la anul 87 (î. Hr., n.n.) în timpul lui Domiţian, (Decebal, n.n.) a întreprins invazii atât de periculoase pentru marele Imperiu Roman, încât Roma a cumpărat pacea plătind un tribut”.

De peste 2500 de ani, filosofii teologiei încă nu s-au pus de acord asupra originii lui Apollo, şi se pare că vor mai trece secole, până se va afla adevărul!
Este drept că numele lui Apollo a fost luat în discuţie chiar de Platon, în ,,Cratylos”, 405, C (în care marele filosof a emis opinii interesante despre etimologia termenului), dar şi de  Plutarh ─ marele preot apolinic la Templul din Delfi ─ în ,,De Iside et Osiride”, 381 F.
Cu toate acestea, ,,rădăcinile” lui Apollo au rămas necunoscute până în ziua de azi, în ciuda faptului că Platon ─ discipolul lui Socrate ─, spre a fi convingător, a făcut referire şi la însuşirile divine ale Zeului!
            Mircea Eliade a comentat, desigur, punctul de vedere al lui Platon asupra originii lui Apollo, ajungând şi el la concluzia că, de fapt, aceasta rămâne, totuşi, necunoscută, deşi explicaţiile exhaustive ne determină să credem că acel cognomen, Phoibos, acordat lui Apollo, este de sorginte indo-iraniană, referindu-se la,,lumină”, la ,,strălucire”.
            Evident, că Mircea Eliade a forţat, într-un fel, lucrurile, pornind nu de la o etimologie indiană clară, limpede, ci doar de la rădăcina ,,bha”, pe care o regăsim în cuvântul ,,phaos”. Mai precis, Mircea Eliade consideră că ,,Phoibos” (sau Phoebus) include rădăcina amintită, care ar fi edificatoare în explicarea originii reale a lui Apollo.

Teoria sa este, într-adevăr, destul de convingătoare, mai ales că ea poate fi regăsită, indirect, într-una din explicaţiile lui Plutarh, mai exact în prelegerea delfică, intitulată ,,De E apud Delphos” (,,Despre E de la Delfi”):

Despre nemurire şi metempsihoză, la Pitagora şi Zamolxes

        Se dedică preabunei stareţe a Mănăstirii dintr-un Lemn, monahia Emanuela Oprea −


Ce va fi fost la începutul lumii, ori dincolo de acel început, nici măcar vechii inzi n-au ştiut să ne spună!
O mare de lumină şi-un Duh peste talaze, legănându-se odată cu ele, sau chiar o linişte mare, fără de sfârşit, din care Soarele, Luna şi stelele toate s-au închegat, ca şi spuma; pulsând, mai apoi, ca sevele-n arbori, primăvara, când cineva le strigă din cer, spre El să se-ndrepte?!
            Să ne imaginăm, totuşi, Energia Divină – acel Duh despre care vorbeşte Biblia, şi de puterea ei (cum zicea Platon), de a emana lumi şi esenţe: suflet, ca substanţă materială, şi suflet ca raţiune/spirit, adică acei ,,ochi cugetători de inimii’’, cum se scrie în Vechiul Testament.
            Şi, dintr-o dată, un om! Unul singur, privind  cu uimire, răsărind Soarele peste pământ (ca la Walt Whitman!), rostogolindu-se pe bolta cerească; apoi Luna, urmându-l sfioasă, cu paşii-i mici, printre stelele nopţii, mirate şi crude, licărind depărtărilor, mărilor...

            Mai singur decât omul acela nimeni n-a fost nicicând pe pământ!
